Pacers' Mathurin to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery
Key Forward to Miss Remainder of 2023-24 Campaign
Indiana Pacers forward Bennedict Mathurin will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, the team announced today.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Mathurin suffered a torn labrum in his right shoulder and will require surgery to repair it.
The 21-year-old forward was the Pacers' sixth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and has been a key contributor to the team this season. He is averaging 17.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.
Mathurin's absence will be a significant blow to the Pacers, who are currently 23-25 and in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.
