As of Thursday evening, Beryl was located approximately 130 miles south-southeast of Negril, Jamaica, with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph. The storm's vast tropical-storm-force winds extended 39 miles from its center.

Hurricane warnings were issued for parts of Jamaica, as well as the Cayman Islands, and the Yucatán Peninsula. Beryl is expected to make landfall along the Mexican coast late Friday or early Saturday, bringing with it the potential for life-threatening storm surge, heavy rainfall, and damaging winds.
